BSP Life has amended its policies and now offer cover for disciplined forces including the army, police, prisons and navy who are engaged in internationally-sanctioned peacekeeping missions.
With this change BSP Life has amended the warzone exclusion which is a standard exclusion applied by global Insurance Companies given the high level of risk involved, a statement from the insurance company said.
With this enhancement, BSP Life will now pay out the sum insured on base products together with any term life or accidental death benefit, the statement said.
They will also recognise total and permanent disability incurred from peacekeeping duties. Personnel of the disciplined forces who hold existing policies with BSP Life shall receive immediate cover and will have their policies amended accordingly. This includes those who are currently serving overseas.
BSP Life managing director Malakai Naiyaga said this was a milestone achievement for BSP Life as the exclusion had been in place for many years.
This enhancement was achieved through consultation with our reinsurers and the disciplined forces demonstrating BSP Lifes commitment to developing products and services that meet our customers needs, Mr Naiyaga said.
The inclusion of insurance cover for accidents and disabilities is a unique feature making our cover the most comprehensive in Fiji.
BSP Life is one of the few life insurance companies globally to provide this benefit, he said.
