RENOWNED bankers ANZ and the Suva Bowling Club launched the Pineapple Cup in Suva on Wednesday last week.
The prestigious cup is in its 88th year of competition and has been once again boosted by the sponsorship of the bank.
Suva Bowling Club president Vilisoni Vakatalai said more bowlers were expected to take part in the event compared to recent years.
"We normally had 30-40 participants for the Pineapple Cup but this year taking into consideration overseas participation there are over 50," Vakatalai said.
The 88th Pineapple Cup tournament will be held this weekend.
