THE RB Patel Group yesterday said it was working closely with Suvavou and Lami villages offering employment and business opportunities.
A statement from the company said they had offered business opportunities such as security services and a taxi base to the villagers.
It added that the company would look at other opportunities for the village.
"Lami has been one of the towns that RB Patel had wanted to be a part of and we feel that we have achieved another milestone in our efforts to bring value for money to our customers in Lami," the statement said.
"RB Patel has worked hand in hand with the Lami Town Council and Suvavou and Lami villages to ensure that we are seen as part of the town's future. We are also looking at ways in which we can allow social groups within the Lami area to use the ample space we have for fundraising activities."
The Harbour Point Supermarket is the group's eleventh in Fiji.
