THERE is hope that complaints against police officers and the force will drop.
Commissioner of Police Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua made the comment while closing the Criminal Investigations Department management workshop. He told the 130 officers "don't do it because the commissioner is telling you, do it because it is your job".
Brig-Gen Naivalurua said he hoped they had learnt something new from their colleagues to perform their duties better.
Brig-Gen Naivalurua said officers sleeping on the job would never be able to perform to the expectation of those they were expected to protect. He said sleeping meant a lot of things from laxity to hiding things.
He hailed the three-day workshop as a success.
Brig-Gen Naivalurua said he hoped to see tangible results, saying it was about attitude and the way they conducted themselves as police officers.
He said it was time to correct the wrong and speak the truth.
