THE Bamboo Spa at Matava Eco Resort is the first and only full service facility of its kind on the island of Kadavu.
Pairing up with Pure Fiji, the spa which opened recently, runs on solar systems, the resort said in a statement.
"We decided to partner with Pure Fiji as our environmental policies and missions are so much in line," the statement said.
Matava Eco Resort is located on the south side of Kadavu directly looking out to the Great Astrolabe Reef.
Resort director Stuart Gow said the Bamboo Spa, which opened in March, was built to exacting international spa standards after it was completed in February.
Manned by four staff members, the spa runs completely on solar power making it the only carbon neutral spa in the South Pacific, he said.
"All water is from a roof mounted solar system, and 12V lighting through solar power lights the treatment rooms," he said.
The Bamboo Spa features Pure Fiji products.
