ATHLETICS

BADMINTON

Games/clinics

BADMINTON Fiji hosts social games every Friday from 6pm - 8pm at the Yat Sen School Hall. Registration $3 per participant. Contact Carlene Bentley on 9331063. Badminton Fiji will hold coaching clinics every Saturday morning. All equipment will be provided. 9am to 10am - Kids Clinc; 10am - 12 midday - Development training. $3 per participant. Ba

Charity golf

TIFFANY'S of Canada will host a charity golf tournament for the western flood victims at the Nadi Airport Golf Club this Sunday. Breakfast and on-course beverages will be provided by Tiffany's with registration fees of $400 per team. All proceeds will go towards the Prime Minister's flood appeal fund. Macuata

THE Macuata Netball Association friendly games for new netball season will be played at the Katonivere Grounds on Saturday from 11.00am - 2pm. Bring your team's for registration.

Nadi

THERE will be a meeting for all club presidents and their fundraising committee reps at the Kennedy Hotel on May 18 at 6pm and presidents are also requested to submit their Registration Forms for 2012 at this meeting. Knockout tournament for NNA will be on the May 26 at the Nataly Grounds in Namaka and clubs are requested to be at the ground at 8am.

THE Fiji Gold Nasinu Netball Association competition will be held this Friday at the National Netball Centre in Suva.

Kai Colo Netball 7s

WILL be held on June 30th at Vatureba Park.Registration Fee $100 p/team and winner gets $500, runner-up $250 and losing semi-finalist $100 and best dress and best male and female player $50 each. Only first 24 women and 12 mens team will be accommodated. Due date of registration fee to be paid to Lowata by June 22nd. Open men registration fee is $50. SNOOKER

Northwest

THE Northwest Billiards and Snooker Association would like to invite all the snooker players to it annual round off snooker tournament starting on Saturday, May 19 from 9am. We will have our Annual General Meeting as it was printed in the Fiji Times earlier at 9am on Sunday, May 20 and continue with the tournament at 10am. If we finish the singles giving us ample time to finish a double tournament we will do so. The tournament will be held at Lautoka Club and entries closing date is Thursday, May 17 at 5pm. Entries fee is $15 for players who are from affiliated clubs and $20 for those who are from non-affiliated clubs. Lunch will be fresh goat curry on Saturday. Dress code will be Long Trousers, Long Sleeve Shirt with Bow Tie, Shoes, and Sandal with Sulu only. The committee meeting will begin at 8.30am on Saturday. Southern Open

THE SDBSA will host the Carz & Carz Open Challenge Cup Single Snooker tournament on May 26 and 27 at the Merchant and Defence clubs in Suva. Entry for western players is free while for others it will $20. Entries close May 22. Winner recieve a trophy and $400, runner up gets a trophy and $200, semi-finalists get a trophy and $50 and quater-finalists receive $25 and a trophy. The highest break will also get a trophy and cash. Lunch will be provided on both days. To confirm your entry please email southernsnooker@yahoo.com or call Mr Riffat Bhatti on 9924441. Note: Snooker format - best of three (round robin), pools will be announced after entries have been recieved.

Veterans

THE SDBSA will host the Carz & Carz Veterans Single Snooker Challenge Cup tournament on May 27 at the Merchant Club in Suva. The tournament will be played in two categories: Category 1 - between ages 40 to 50 and category 2 - all players over the age of 50. Entry for the tournament is free. Prizes will be given out in both categories for winner - trophy, runner up - trophy and highest break - trophy. Lunch will be provided on the day of competition.

VOLLEYBALL

Marist

THE Fiji Bitter Marist Volleyball tournament is scheduled for June 7, 8 and 9 at the National Gymnasium, Suva. Registrations are $250 for men (24 teams), mens Masters (over 35) $150 entry fee and $800 prizemoney, $150 for the Mixed Business House (10 teams).
