RUNNING a business should not be just work, work and more work.
Last week, the New Zealand Business Council held a cocktail at one of Port Denarau's most popular watering holes Lulu's Bar.
President Carl Ngamoki Cameron said the get together, which was an annual event, provided opportunity for members to network over a few drinks and also gave newcomers a chance to rub shoulders with their Kiwi counterparts in an informal setting.
"We have three new members joining us this year John Thatcher area manager for Insurance Holdings Fiji Limited, Stuart Rhodes general manager Hospitality at the Pacific Institute of Technologyand, Neelesh Ram director of Rams Cleaning Services Limited.
"The new guys get a chance to learn about Fiji's business environment and sometimes business partnerships are forged through meetings like these," he said.
Mr Thatcher said he was warmed by the welcome given to him by NZBC members and looked forward to establishing fruitful contacts. Port Denarau's chief executive officer Nigel Skeggs and Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Doctor Ram Raju also attended the event.
