SEVEN businesses in Ba have closed temporarily as a direct result of the March floods.

Ba Town Council acting CEO Dip Narayan confirmed Comfort Home Furnishing Ba branch, Meng International Trade, Nigata Dairies in Yalalevu and Anok's Fastfood Restaurant remain closed. Mr Narayan confirmed three other businesses had temporarily closed as relocation plans continue.

"Shops relocating to other places are MH Supermarket, AV Store and Meenoos Ba branch," said Mr Narayan.

Ba Chamber of Commerce vice president Anil Amin said although businesses suffered as a result of the floods, the town was returning to normalcy.

"Disasters come and go but businesses will be there, so they will at the end of the day return to normalcy."

Mr Amin said they were working closely with members to come up with a business plan to move forward and how they could assist each other.

He said a meeting would be held soon to discuss ways of improving business. Mr Amin thanked the government for providing incentives and tax waivers to the business community.
