FOUR law enforcement officers. Their job is to serve and protect. Confident and focused on the job - yet at the end of the day when they come home, they face an even bigger challenge : fatherhood.

They find out that what they thought was "good enough" in their view when dealing with family and their children was "not enough".

Dubbed one of the best and popular movies of 2011, COURAGEOUS is a must-see for all men, dads, buddies and families.

Never before has such a movie hit at the heart of the matter - the essence of fatherhood.

Men who dare to stand up to the negative pressures, influences, temptations and attacks on moral family values, and fight for what is right in God's eyes.

COURAGEOUS is a movie based on real life experiences of every family, and men who dare to stand up and be counted among those who take fatherhood seriously.

It hits on the reality of how being a father changes a man's priorities, role and responsibilities in his life.

Adam Mitchell (Alex Kendrick) spends most of his energy working on police reports than with his nine year-old daughter and teenage son, who seek his attention and involvement in their young lives. Nathan Hayes (Ken Beven) was born out of wedlock and never knew his own father. He has a wonderful family and wife and refuses to let his sad childhood influence his family life; David Thomson (Ben Davies) is still confused about abandoning his former girlfiriend and their baby girl and Adam's force partner, Shane Fuller (Kevin Downes) is a divorced father of one son. The four adopt Adam's construction worker and God-fearing family man Harvie into their group.

These men are left wrestling with their hopes, their fears, their faith, and their fathering.

Courageous is a story of temptation, friendship, promises and love.

A story of how the absence of a father or father-figure in a child's life can be disastrous, even deadly for the child as they grow into adults.

It emphasises the importance of a father's physical presence and involvement in their children's life.

COURAGEOUS is a story of pain and regret, and a man's ability to rise above himself in the face of tragedy.

He becomes weak yet must find triumph and bring back into his reality the very essence of being a dad, a father and a husband which God ordained him for.

Courageous will make make a man cry, break his heart, make him think and make him laugh.

So overwhelming is this melting pot of mixed emotions-type of movie, it is definitely a must see for every man.

This movie proves the power of God, his blessings, peace and strengthening on a man who chooses to follow him and obey his commands.

Some men will mock this, some will ignore it, but others will see the opportunity for radical change and progress like never before through this movie.

There is a strong message for all men in Courageous. It is a message of hope when God is first in his life. Something draws these dads closer to God ... and to their children. His desires, thoughts and choices are never the same. He becomes the man of Courage God created him to be. Protecting the streets is second nature to these men. Raising their children in a God-honoring way? That's courageous.

The movie stars Alex Kendrick, also the writer and director, Ken Bevel, Ben Davies, Kevin Downes and Robert Amaya as Harvie.

Filled with action-packed police drama, COURAGEOUS is the fourth film from Sherwood Pictures, the moviemaking ministry of Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. According to the church, riveted moviegoers will once again find themselves laughing, crying, and cheering as they are challenged and inspired by everyday heroes who long to be the kinds of dads that make a lifelong impact on their children.
