THE stage is all set for the full 18 holes Islands Electric Wholesalers stroke event to be held at the Lautoka Golf Link today.
Club spokesman, Peter Narayan confirmed the fairways greens were now completely playable and for the first time this year members would compete in the full course layout.
This event will lay the platform for the official season opening at the end of this month.
"As usual we will have all the top guns vying for the top honors, with fierce competition amongst James Krishna, Surend Pillay, Asish Kumar, Raymond Singh,Prem Chand and Manwal Ajay," said Narayan.
"Stiff competition will come from consistent performers in the form of Abdul Jalal, Gaffar Ali, Salen Kumar, Abdul Khan and Laurence Naidu.
"Former national soccer rep a successful 2008 Lautoka IDC winning coach"-Dennis Singh is a sure starter for the event.
Singh is home on a holiday from Sydney and plays off a handicap of 4. In addition to the main prizes there will be several lucky draws, Hole-in-one and a number of hidden prizes at stake.
A free golfing lesson will also be provided for beginners prior to tee-off
