THE Rakiraki Town Council (RTC) has noticed a great improvement in the payment of market fees by market vendors at the Rakiraki market.

RTC market manager, Ilaisa Vakaloloma said many of the women market vendors were paying their dues on time compared to the past.

While addressing women vendors in Rakiraki, Mr Vakaloloma said in the past he would usually be asked to come back at another time for the fees.

"But now, when I come to ask for the payment, most of the women are more than ready to pay their fees," said Mr Vakaloloma.

Mr Vakaloloma said the credit should be given to United Nations Development Program for the positive response from the women through its capacity-building programs the women were part of over the past nine weeks.

He said he was grateful the training had equipped the women with enough knowledge to manage their money wisely and also be able to pay their fees on time.

RTC acting special administrator Seini Raiko also acknowledged the women's efforts through the training.
