CUSTOMERS in the Northern Division with outstanding bills to the Water Authority of Fiji have paid up well, says the divisional water engineer northern Robulusi Mataitoga.
He said the response from customers had been positive.
Mr Mataitoga did not elaborate on details of the outstanding bills but described the payments from customers as encouraging.
"We have visited our customers around Vanua Levu and made arrangements with them over payments to WAF," he said.
"The response received from them has been positive as most have paid up their outstanding bills while others are paying up.
"It's encouraging to see our customers paying up bills as it makes our work easier."
Mr Mataitoga said they had worked well with the community raising awareness on the importance of paying bills.
"People realise now the importance of paying bills as it helps us carry out our work well.
"We have explained to them through our awareness program and it has been really good.
"We have visited our customers in Taveuni and Savusavu as well holding awareness programs with them too," said Mr Mataitoga.
