Michael Jackson's mask to be auctioned
The silk fabric mask was reportedly worn by the late 'Thriller' star during his last ever run through of his 'This Is It' concert before he died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009. The mask has already got bids of $20,000, and was expected to fetch up to $150,000 when bidding ended on April 30. Nate D. Sanders Auctions claims the mask was personally designed by Michael and in its listing it says the item has "visible traces of his make-up," and notes, "a single dark strand of Jackson's hair accompanies the mask". The mask comes from one of Michael's former bodyguards, who swears by its authenticity. The eccentric singer often wore surgical masks outdoors as a form of disguise and protection against breathing in smog. Although Michael died before the first of his 50 'This Is It' shows in London, he could potentially tour again, with the help of new hologram technology that recently saw Tupac Shakur resurrected to perform at Coachella music festival in California.
Gwyneth Paltrow in demand
The Oscar winner is wanted to play Sylvia Llewelyn Davies - whose four sons befriended author J.M. Barrie and inspired him to write 'Peter Pan' - in 'Finding Neverland', which is based on the 2004 film of the same name. According to the Daily Mail newspaper, the production is due to open in Leicester, England, in September before moving to London's West End in 2013. If Gwyneth agrees to tread the boards then she will appear opposite actor Julian Ovenden. In the movie version Johnny Depp portrayed the writer and Kate Winslet played Sylvia. Although Gwyneth has never appeared in a musical before she has been showcasing her singing talents in recent months. The 39-year-old actress performed several songs in her recurring guest role as supply teacher Holly Holiday in 'Glee', and she showcased her voice in movie 'Country Strong', in which she played a troubled country singer.
Hairy Gaga
She's always thinking of new ways to make an entrance and wow her adoring fans even more, having already stepped out in a dress made entirely from meat. And Lady Gaga has certainly outdone herself with her latest get-up as she arrived in Hong Kong dressed in what can only be described as a purple hairy dress. It was almost as if she had slipped on one large wig as she sauntered into the country early last week in the bright get-up, which made her look like a colourful Cousin Itt from the Addams Family. The pop superstar went all out to make an impression as she arrived ready for the part of her Asian tour. She finished the look with some long white gloves as she waved to stunned onlookers.
