CARPENTERS Finance has taken a two-pronged approach to flood relief efforts in the Western Division.
The financial lending institution not only became directly involved by going out to affected communities and giving essential supplies but also assisted customers by introducing fee waivers and deferment of payment options.
"As part of our corporate social responsibility, we decided to get together as a company and got the staff members involved to ascertain where the biggest needs were and in the process identified one of the worst-hit areas in Nawaka Village.
"We also realised a lot of our customers were directly affected by the Nadi floods and we have taken proactive measures to assist them by introducing financial assistance like repayment holidays, deferment of monthly instalments, restructuring of accounts and waiver of fees and charges," said general manager finance, Alok Mishra.
The financier's sports and social club, supported by the company, arranged clothes and food hampers for 100 people in Nawaka Village.
