MEMBERS of the i tokatoka Qaralaselase in Macuata met for the first time yesterday as part of its effort to strengthen their relationship.
The two-day event was held at Saint Mary's Primary School ground in Labasa where members from as far as Viti Levu took time out to attend the event.
Tokatoka spokesman Ratu Rabeka Soronabaravi Katonivualiku said the event was the first of its kind to be organised by them for the purpose of uniting their members.
"Apart from the soli day, members from Caumatalevu and Wasavulu have all come together to meet and mingle with one another.
"There are a lot of new members and it is important we organise an event as this so we can keep our relationship intact. This event was planned last year and we are thankful that some members from Viti Levu have opted to travel up north to be part of the celebration."
Ratu Rabeka said they hoped to host the event again next year. "It's really interesting to see people kept coming for the two-day event and we would like to thank everyone for making it a successful meet."
