HE loves Fiji and will come back whenever he has the opportunity.

For Ashmit Patel, Fiji is a "beautiful, beautiful place".

The actor is enjoying his stay in the country since he arrived late last month.

He is in Fiji for the shooting of the Bollywood movie Supermodel, in which he plays the lead role.

During a break from shooting at the Natadola beachside in Sigatoka on Tuesday afternoon, he spoke to The Fiji Times about his experience in the country.

"I went out to the end of the reef a short while ago to do some snorkelling as I had always thought about snorkelling and I've also been to Navua to do zip-lining," he said.

"I also went to Lautoka the other day with one of the Fijian friends helping us in the shooting of the movie and had some fresh pineapple."

Patel said he also visited the Momi gun site in Nadi.

He also plans to trek up the Sleeping Giants mountains in Sabeto, Nadi, do skydiving and try some other adventurous things before returning to India.

"We don't get to come to Fiji every day so I want to make the most of it.

"Fiji is really a beautiful, very beautiful place."

Asked about his experience with Fijian food, he said, "I've tried kokoda and want to try something else.

"I've been having a lot of fresh fish, especially mahimahi, but not in the real Fijian style.

"One of the girls has told me she will cook some nice fish curry for me, so I'm looking forward.

"And my Fijian friends have also told me they will prepare a lovo for me before I go back."

Patel said he would surely return to Fiji with his girlfriend or friends or family members whenever he gets the opportunity to do so.

He made his acting debut in 2004 and is returning to the movies after a two-and-a-half year break.
