Ba rugby starts

THE Ba Rugby Union will commence its new season this Saturday. Officials yesterday said they hoped to lift the standard of their competition. The friendly games will be played at the Ba Market ground. The Sorokoba and Vadravadra game will mark the season opener for the union which is based at the soccer crazy town of Ba.

Nadi play away

NADI'S third Digicel Cup match will be played at Churchill Park in Lautoka. The jet-setters will take on Ovalau on Friday night. Ovalau is tipped to beat Nadi, however the Iliesa Tanivula -coached Nadi team will be out to record its first win of the season.

Nawaka 7s launch

THE Fiji Bitter Nawaka Sevens tournament will be launched today at the South Pacific Distilleries in Lautoka. Fiji Bitter is giving $25,000 in total sponsorship. The winner walks away with $10,000. Samurai Barracudas are the defending champion.

Ba back in style

BA'S recent performance at the National Football League has boosted the side as they prepare for the Fiji FACT. Despite a disappointing O-League campaign, Ba is eager to bounce back in style and win the FACT title. Ba defeated Tavua 4-0 last Friday and beat Lautoka 2-1 at Churchill Park on Sunday.
