SYDNEY - The injury-hit NSW Waratahs have delayed naming their team for Sunday's Super Rugby showdown with the Crusaders at Allianz Stadium.
With four players, including three backs from last week's squad, unavailable, coach Michael Foley has opted to name a match-day 22 instead.
Foley will finalise his starting XV closer to game day, but newcomers included in the Waratahs squad on Thursday include Sydney University pair Peter Betham and Jeremy Tilse and Randwick flyer Atieli Pakalani.
Betham joins Pakalani in the 22 in place of outside backs Bernard Foley (shoulder) and the suspended Rob Horne, who have both been ruled out this weekend.
The absence of Paddy Ryan has created an opportunity for 25-year-old Tilse, who has been in strong club form over the first two rounds of the Shute Shield, scoring two tries in Sydney Uni's 49-19 victory over West Harbour.
Having last week made way for Rocky Elsom, fellow Sydney Uni forward Jono Jenkins returns to the 22-man squad this week in place of Chris Alcock, who is recovering from appendicitis surgery.
Waratahs: Adam Ashley-Cooper, Berrick Barnes, Peter Betham, Dave Dennis, Kane Douglas, Tom Carter, Rocky Elsom, Tom Kingston, Daniel Halangahu, Jono Jenkins, Sekope Kepu, Brendan McKibbin, Dean Mumm, Atieli Pakalani, Wycliff Palu, Tatafu Polota-Nau, Sarel Pretorius, Benn Robinson (capt), Jeremy Tilse, Lopeti Timani, Sitaleki Timani, John Ulugia.
