Province to gain from financial institutions

IF there is something the people of Bua should look forward to in the Asco Motors Bua tradeshow, it's the presence of more financial institutions.

"We have an increase in financial institutions participating at this year's tradeshow, which is great because the people in the Bua province who engage in commercial agriculture and fishing will get first-hand information on investment options and financial packages available to them," Asco Motors national marketing manager, Elenoa Korovulavula-Mule said.

"Asco Motors, which has been staging the tradeshow since 2007 is working very closely with the Bua Provincial Council to ensure the tradeshow objectives are met and that the outcomes are beneficial for all stakeholders," Mrs Korovulavula-Mule said.

The show has become popular for the people of Cakaunitabua, who would save on travelling costs by buying the farming equipment right at their doorsteps.

The villagers say that in the past five years, they have been able to buy generators, outboard engines and farming equipment from the Nabouwalu ground instead of travelling to Labasa and hiring carriers to transport the items back home.

She said the financial institutions would provide an additional service informing the villagers on how they could access funds. "The people of Bua can expect some great deals on various products and services, and some informative and educational product awareness presentations from the companies," she added.

The tradeshow will be staged during the Bua Provincial Day celebrations from April 25 to 27 at the Bua Provincial Grounds.
