THE Bua Provincial Council has organised an exciting program for the annual 'Bula Re Bua Showcase' that begins today till Wednesday.
With the theme, De Lakolako Au na Qai Nuidana (Lest we forget that traditions and ways of Bua), the Bula 'Re Bua Showcase' will be held in conjunction with the 2012 Bua Trade Show at the Provincial Compound at Nabouwalu.
The nine districts have all been looking forward to today with dozens of entertainment prepared for the event.
Primary and high school students will feature in day one of the showcase with impromptu speeches, art and craft and musical talent quest organised in three different categories which include the upper primary, lower secondary and upper secondary.
These competitions will be conducted in the Bua dialect. "We want to show our children that we can do all these with the Bua dialect, it's a day for us to encourage our language and culture to the younger generation," event co-ordinator Joseva Tuqiri said. A career Expo is also scheduled today from business houses featured in the Bua Trade Show.
Day Two of the showcase will involve a Baby Show by the Ministry of Health. There will also be a competition on handicraft and sewing.
The Agriculture Show will be a part of Day Three. Entertainment will be provided every night from 5pm- 10pm by the nine districts and the invited Police Jazz Band.
The Bula Re Bua Showcase will be closed on Wednesday by reigning Miss Hibiscus Alisi Rabukawaqa.
"We want to thank Asco Motors and all the business houses for making this possible and not forgetting Bua," Mr Tuqiri said.
