Pay day for pensioners
THE Fiji National Provident Fund has reassured pensioners, who validated and chose an option before February 29, will be paid out by today. In a statement on Friday evening, FNPF CEO Aisake Taito apologised to pensioners for the delay caused by process problems last week. He said 90 per cent of the payments were to be deposited into the banks by Saturday morning with the remaining payments to be made in the the weekend.
Mr Taito said FNPF officers had to manually process all pension folders and ensure appropriate clearances were obtained to mitigate all possible risks associated with manual payments before they were released.
