THE man who allegedly raped and attempted to murder a 23-year old girl in Labasa last week was granted bail for $2000 yesterday.
He appeared before Magistrate Sia'iniu Fa'alogo Bull in the Labasa Magistrate Court on a count of rape and one of attempted murder.
Magistrate Bull ordered the accused not to travel out of Vanua Levu, not interfere with police witnesses and to report to the Labasa Police Station three times a week - Monday, Wednesday and Saturday - between 6am to 6pm.
He was also ordered to surrender his passport within 48 hours.
The case has been adjourned to June 6.
