A HEARING date has been set for an Estonian national who allegedly assisted Ratu Tevita Uluilakeba Mara escape to Tonga.

Risto Harmat, who is being represented by Suva lawyer Gavin O'Driscoll, appeared before Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili yesterday charged with a count of obstructing to defeat the course of justice.

The hearing date has been set for June 4 to 6.

A hearing date was initially set for February 20 to 24 when the case was called in December.

Last week, Director of Public Prosecutions lawyer Mosese Korovou told the court they had a few issues they needed to iron out.
