TADRAI Island Resort in the Mamanuca Group has been named one of the top holiday destinations on the couples romance list for 2012.

The list comprises 25 properties from all over the world, ranging from urban retreats to secluded tropical escapes. The recognition accorded to the island resort is especially sweet for the owners as the luxurious destination situated on Mana Island has only been open for seven months.

Resort managing director Aaron McGrath, said they were honoured and delighted to be featured in the prestigious list alongside many other amazing new properties. "To be bench-marked against well-established brands, within seven months of operation, for a small, exclusive property is a huge honour.

"Our whole emphasis at Tadrai is on providing our guests with tailored, luxurious romantic vacations, something we will continue to provide for many years to come," he said.

The complete list of the world's top 25 romantic destinations for couples is featured in a special issue of the Holidays for Couples magazine.

Editor Tanya Joslin said there were many hotels and resorts that were marvellous in their own right. "But if they didn't have that special something that turns a luxury escape into a romantic luxury escape, then we had to let them go," said Ms Joslin.

Other resorts that featured on the list of 25 include Mandarin Oriental in Paris, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and One and Only in Dubai.
