AN emotional Commissioner Northern Lieutenant Colonel Ilai Moceica yesterday reminded members of the Northern Development Board of their roles in shaping Vanua Levu.

He told members they needed to develop the north for tomorrow's generation.

"The road ahead is a difficult one but achievable. There is no turning back," Lt-Col Moceica said.

"We have already started our journey of developments and shaping Vanua Levu and we will continue to do that. We are here to build the north for our children and our children's children.

"We have to involve everyone in the economic drive particularly in rural areas," he said.

Lt-Col Moceica said there were a lot of opportunities in the north and it needed to involve resource owners. He said it was part of their plans to involve villages of all districts in transactions from the farm to the market.

"That is why we need to build proper infrastructure, especially roads to help our villagers get to the market to sell their products," he said. "We need to involve the districts of the three provinces."
