THE body of an 18-year-old female was found floating off the Nayavutoka Village coast in Nakorotubu, Ra yesterday.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the deceased was last seen at the village on Saturday morning.
"The deceased was reported missing yesterday (Saturday) and following a search conducted by our police officers which ended at 12.30am, they returned with negative results," Ms Naisoro said.
"This morning (Sunday), villagers of Nayavutoka, Ra found the body of the deceased floating," she said.
"Our officers have just now returned from the scene and her body is now awaiting a post-mortem examination.
"Investigation is continuing to determine the cause of death," she added.
Ms Naisoro has also brushed aside reports circulating that there were four bodies found floating at Namarai saying it was not true.
She said the report of the 18-year-old teenager was the only one received.
