TWELVE retail travel agents of a major Canadian tour operator ù Boomerang tours ù are on a seven-day educational tour of the country that began last Thursday.

The group is being hosted by Pacific Destinationz, Air Pacific and Tourism Fiji.

First-time visitors to the country, the travel agents are focused on increasing their business to Fiji.

Pacific Destinationz Fiji managing director James Sowane said the group's visit was part of their marketing plan activities they had discussed at last year's Bula Fiji Tourism Exchange with heads of marketing for Boomerang Tours, Air Pacific and Tourism Fiji.

"The best outcome of this joint Fiji familiarisation visit is that through our assurance and feedback from all our industry partners that Fiji is back in business as usual. The executive management of Boomerang Tours made a decision to proceed with our original dates of 12-19th April," Mr Sowane said.

"These travel professionals will be our key ambassadors when they return to assure their clients and travel colleagues that Fiji is indeed back in business following the recent flood," he said.

The agents will visit hotels and resorts on Denarau, Mamanuca and cruise the Yasawa Group on Captain Cook Cruises.
