THE exotically named Miss Virgin Flower was crowned winner of the Priscilla One Moment in Time show that took place over the weekend at the Friends nightclub in Suva.

The show, a tribute to the late pop diva Whitney Houston, also encouraged the Priscilla contestants to advocate for the environment by using the Reduce, Reuse Recycle theme in making their costumes.

Show organisers Ines Petersen and Debbie Wilson said the response from the public was amazing with tickets for the night all sold out.

"The show went really, really well. It was well organised and a cross section of people attended the show," Ms Peterson said.

She said the contestants had been judged in the categories of talent, creative wear and evening wear.

Ms Petersen said judges included Lana Smith, who was named Designer of the Year at the 2011 Fiji Fashion Week, journalist Frederica Elbourne and Sian Penjueli.

Ms Wilson said Miss Virgin Flower received $200, a cell phone, an Aladdin's Cave Prize and a Kila World Voucher.

"Miss Bee Posh won the second place prize and took home $50, a flashnet, an Aladdin's Cave Prize and a R&J hair and beauty voucher."

Ms Wilson said the contestants made their own costumes and rehearsed for two weeks to get the show right.

"This show is also meant to be a build-up for them to the Adi Senikau pageant that takes place during the Hibiscus pageant," Ms Wilson said.
