MORE than 1600 students from five colleges graduated yesterday at the Vodafone Arena in Suva.
The Fiji National University 2010 graduation saw students graduate from the College of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry; College of Business, Hospitality and Tourism Studies; College of Engineering, Science and Technology; College of Humanities and Education; and the College of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
Speaking at the graduation, university vice chancellor Dr Ganesh Chand said yesterday's graduation was the largest.
"We have not had so many students graduating," he said.
"For the university, it is a very proud moment."
The Fiji National University was established in January this year and has over 300 different programs, Dr Chand said.
He said the largest numbers of expertise graduated yesterday, acknowledging government and stakeholders.
Dr Chand paid tribute to the graduates' parents for their sacrifices so their children could be educated. "People are here waiting to see their child receive their certificate," he said. "Thank you to all the parents."
Dr Chand called on the graduates to always do their best, thanking them for their hard work and choosing FNU to study at.
