Fiji Cyclone appeal update

THE Fiji Cyclone Appeal tally stood at $68,543.03 committed towards the work of the Fiji Red Cross Society yesterday.

This after more than $52,000 in donations were committed yesterday.

ANZ Bank announced it would contribute $50,000 for the work of the Fiji Red Cross, and $2005 was donated by individuals into the ANZ account.

This followed on the heels of Thursday, when the balance stood at $16,538 after more than $1500 was donated by individuals which added to the $15,000 that the Fiji Times started off the fund with.

In the wake of Hurricane Tomas, the Fiji Times and ANZ Bank joined forces mid-week for the appeal.
