REWA Dairy has admitted its butter production level has dropped.
CEO Ratu Savenaca Seniloli said "the company has been producing very little" but he would not elaborate.
Hot Bread Kitchen head Mere Samisoni said Rewa Butter, specifically 125gm, packs had been under-supplied in the past six months.
She said supply had decreased from eight to four deliveries per month.
One delivery contains 100 cartons of 125g butter.
"This is affecting the sale of bread in bakeries because people are accustomed to buying bread and butter," Ms Samisoni said.
"The cost of a month's delivery is more than $64,000.
"Whenever we ask about supply, we are told the delivery has been delayed."
