VETERAN Fiji sevens back Nasoni Roko says guts is needed to win in tournaments such as Hong Kong on the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series.
Roko was yesterday recalled into the 12-member Fiji side for the Adelaide and Hong Kong tournaments. Roko made his 15s debut on the Northern Hemisphere tour last November and missed out on Wellington and Las Vegas due to injury.
"To win in Hong Kong, you need guts and determination," Roko said.
The dreadlocked Serea, Naitasiri native has boosted the experience in the Iliesa Tanivula-coached side and said his comeback was only the tip of the iceberg.
A member of the sevens side since 2002, Roko said it was tough road ahead for the team.
"I am happy to be back in the team but this is not the end of the task," Roko said.
"There is a big task ahead for me and the team."
He said the team selected was a good one and had a lot of talent and would be a threat in Adelaide and Hong Kong.
"We just need to have a good combination and work on our game plan," he said.
"The core of the players from Wellington and San Diego have been retained and they are good players in the team.
"We have a few good runners on the outside."
Fiji is pooled with Kenya, Wales and Papua New Guinea in Pool C in Adelaide. Series points leader New Zealand is in Pool A with Argentina, Scotland and Tonga.
USA Sevens winner Samoa will face South Africa, France and Japan in Pool B.
Australia will battle England, USA and Niue in Pool D. The Adelaide Sevens will be held from March 19-21.
Gordon Tietjens-coached New Zealand leads the points table with 84 points, followed by Samoa on 70 and Fiji on 68.
