Timely boost for swimming

FIJI Swimming has announced that its sponsorship partnership with Pacific Sun, Fiji's Regional and Domestic Airline, has been renewed for 2010.

The Pacific Sun Fiji National Long Course and Short Course Swimming competitions are held each year and has up to 400 local swimmers from seven clubs taking part. These competitions are the pinnacle of Fiji Swimming's competition calendar each year.

The Fiji Swimming Awards recognises achievements during the year by clubs, swimmers, coaches, technical officials and administrators.

Fiji Swimming intends to have a strong and motivated swimming team in the 2011 Pacific Games in New Caledonia, 2011 FINA World Championships in Shanghai, 2010 and 2012 Oceania Championships and the 2012 Olympics to be held in London.

Pacific Sun will sponsor the following events this year:

* 2010 Short Course Age Group Championships, Nadi, 19th - 22nd March

* 2010 Short Course Open Championships, Suva, 11th -14th June

* 2010 Long Course Age Group Championships, Suva, 8th -11th October

* 2010 Long Course Open Championships, Suva, 26th-27th November

* 2010 Fiji Swimming Awards, Nadi, 4th December.
