Veterans raring to go

Friday, March 05, 2010

THE Veterans basketball team wants to win the Tuvili Cinavi Trophy challenge against holders G-Unit in remembrance of their late mentor Viliame Yabaki Cinavilakeba.

Tuvili, as he was commonly known, coached the Boston team which had core of players who now play for Veterans.

Former national reps -- the likes of Peniasi Kainamoli, Peni Ratumaiyale, Sowane Tamani, Josevata Koboutawa and Joe Cash -- were groomed by Tuvili in the Boston basketball team of the 80s.

Kainamoli, Tamani, Ratumaiyale, Koboutawa and Cash will spearhead the Veterans campaign in tomorrow's important clash against G-Unit.

Tuvili guided Boston to back-to-back Easter Championships.

Raiwaqa Basketball Association official Nicholas Wong said the Veterans would be out to win this important match for their late coach.
