ROOKIE Krishneel Mudaliar wants to start his professional boxing career with a bang.
The Nadi slugger is aiming to knock his opponent Nawal Kishore in the Golden Boy Boxing Promotion this Saturday.
Undefeated Mudaliar who boasts an impressive 10-fight win in the amateur category has been training hard at Jittu Boxing stable under the watchful eyes of national trainer Marika Yalimaiwai.
"I don't know much about my opponent but I'm sure of a win," Mudaliar said.
"I have been training hard and I'm going for a knockout win in my first professional fight."
The 21-year-old local supermarket employee said a win in his first professional fight will set a strong platform for his boxing career.
"I aim to stay in professional arena for next 15 years therefore this fight is really important to me," he said.
"My ultimate aim is to become one of the top boxers in this country."
Mudaliar said he will also fight to prove to the national selectors that he had the potential to represent the country.
"I was dropped from the national squad to the Mini Games this year. I want to show them that I can represent and bring glory to my country," he said. The local gold medalist Mudaliar is son of former professional boxer Arun Kumar.
His younger brother Krishna Mudaliar will square off against national rep Mohammed Shameem in the amateur category.
