Children of Dilkusha Home yesterday visited the Fiji Museum for the first time.
More than 30 children were given the treat by Affiliated Computer Services.
Pavil Prasad, 12, said she was excited to be at the museum.
"This is my first time here and I want to see all the things that are kept here," she said.
Pavil said she and her friends were very happy when told about the visit.
Richard Robinson, seven, said he always wanted to see the things kept in the museum.
Home matron Deaconess Olivia Nataniela said they were touched by the company's initiative.
"This is the first time for us to be here and the children are really excited. They started to get dressed well before time this morning," she said. She said it was also good for the children to go out after the fire last week.
"We have received huge support from the members of the public and business people after the fire," she said.
Deaconess Nataniela said people also helped in the cleaning up afterwards.
Fiji Museum marketing officer Prakashni Sharma said the children did not pay to visit the museum as the company asked.
"We also have lots of displays especially for the children," she said.
Ms Sharma said they had items from other Pacific Island countries such as Tuvalu, Tonga and Solomon Islands on display.
The company provided transportation and food and entertainment for the children afterwards.
