THE cabin crew that will service Air Pacific flights to Hong Kong will not work extended hours.
"Air Pacific is not seeking an extension of working hours," said the airline's managing director and chief executive, John Campbell.
Mr Campbell said such issues were not new.
"As is frequently the case, a number of issues arise whenever we fly to a new port and it is not unusual for the union and the company to have different opinions on some matters. We never discuss industrial relations issues via the media."
He said they were in direct dialogue with the union and minor issues would be resolved before the start of flights to Hong Kong on December 3.
He said eight cabin crew and three pilots had been deployed for the Hong Kong flights.
Transport Workers Union general secretary Kamlesh Kumar said they had yet to receive a response from Air Pacific regarding the issues of extended working hours and accommodation.
He said their main concern was accommodation for the cabin crew.
"We will meet on Friday to discuss issues that the airline management has written to us about in a letter. We hope the issues regarding the Hong Kong service will be resolved before the inaugural flight begins," he said.
