FMF CHOW Games star athlete Sisari Davui is a medal prospect for Fiji at the 2012 London Paralympics Games, says Fiji Paralympics sports development officer Saimoni Nainoca.
The Sunshine Special School student won gold during the Chow Games Under-14 boys 100 and 200m events last week and is the top choice athlete for Fiji Paralympics at the moment.
Davui, who has learning disabilities, qualified for the 2012 Paralympics after the games committee agreed to have the intellectually challenged athletes compete in London.
The meeting was held in Kuala Lumpar last week.
Nainoca said Davui proved his capabilities against the able-bodied athletes by winning two gold medals for Lautoka.
"He beat them all to win gold. I mean these athletes are able-bodied and Davui is a special school athlete. He is one of our top medal prospects now," he said.
Davui earlier took part at the Fiji National Paralym-pics before spending a month's training with the Lautoka side for the Chow Games.
Nainoca said Davui proved disabled athletes have the capabilities to compete at national championships.
He said they would encourage the integration of disabled and able athletes in the future.
Nainoca is also running the Inclusive Sports with Main Schools program.
"We're encouraging this program and we're delighted that we've seen its effect last week."
