THE Fiji Sports Council has yet to decide on a proposal to re-turf the main ground at the TFL National Stadium in Suva.
FSC executive chairman Paul Yee said the council has just expressed the interest to improve the main ground and other facilities.
"We have put an expression of interest to get in interested parties on board for further discussion. We can't give any specific details as yet because nothing is concrete at the moment," he said.
"We have to talk to contractors and experts before further deciding on the project."
The National Stadium was constructed in 1979 as a facility for the sixth South Pacific Games. It features a pavilion that can seat up to 4000 and an embankment that can accommodate another 15,000 spectators
The stadium has hosted various sporting events ranging from Internal Rugby Board Sevens and Fifteens code, World Rugby League, South Pacific and Oceania Games, Rock Concerts and Religious Conventions.
Yee said if the project got under way, it would take "about three to four months" to complete.
