NATIONAL sevens coach Iliesa Tanivula believes there is no outright favourite for the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series title that starts in Dubai on Decmber 4.

Tanivula who took up the national coaching role last February, helped the side finish second behind winner South Africa in the 2008/2009 IRB Series.

The Namotomoto villager says sevens rugby has quickly globalised with high levels of development in most countries.

Tanivula said they would be aiming to better their previous performance.

He said having done the hard work at training, the time was now for the boys to deliver on the field.

"We had a good momentum ending the last series," the former New Zealand sevens player said.

"We just got to step it up this time. We have done the preparation. The boys have gone through some intense and strenuous training. We have done our part and have done the hard yards. Thee boys have put in a lot of effort into it. It's a matter of getting onto the paddock and playing the game. They just want to jump out of their skins to get on the field and play. It's time to get out there and enjoy the game and prove themselves."

The national side failed to defend the Pacific Mini Games gold in the Cook Islands last month losing to Samoa 38-12 in the final.

"There was a lot of lessons to be learnt in Rarotonga preparation wise," Tanivula said.

"The important part is to play well. We have been together for the last three months, we have achieved what we wanted at training with the bodies trimmed fitness wise.

"If we get a good start, it will lay the platform for the series. We just have to keep improving on that. Every team has the same chances of winning the series. South Africa set the standard last year they are going to follow through that not counting out New Zealand, Australia and even Kenya who have really jumped up the ladder. Portugal too of course they have done a lot of work."
