COLONIAL reigned supreme as it beat Fiji Sports Council 22-14 to retain its NewWorld Suva Netball Business House competition on Thursday night.
The likes of Robert Wojick, Samisoni Vugakoto, Bill Savu and Hannah Tuikoro laid the platform for Colonial as it battered its way past the FSC side.
Led by Della Shaw, FSC put up a spirited show but was not fortunate to break the Colonial resilience.
Colonial opened up its lead in the third quarter, which was a power play quarter.
This meant a goal scored within the shooting circle was worth two points and those shot from outside four points.
Competition co-ordinator Fata-fehi Daunivuka said teamwork and skills laid the foundation for Colonial.
"Hannah Tuikoro used her basketball and netball skills to set up national basketball representative, Sakiusa Rokodi for netball goals with ease using his basketball skills to perfection," Daunivuka said.
He said the introduction of power play and certain aspects of fastnet determined winners with two and four points up for goal scored.
"Third quarter determined Colonial's championship status as it won 8-6 and powerplay was evident in determining the winners, he said. The Suva Netball Association received a big boost as NewWorld confirmed it would sponsor again 2010 corporate league.
