THE head of the Catholic Church in Fiji says the the St Vincent de Paul Society ios operating as normal.
St Vincent de Paul Home officials who claim to have been elected by the national council were served eviction orders by bailiffs last week.
"It should be operating now, it's back to normal," said Archbishop Petero Mataca after the Corpus Christi Teachers College graduation mass on Wednesday.
Archbishop Maraca earlier said the matter was outside the administration of the church as the St Vincent de Paul society was a lay organisation.
Problems arose when international council members froze the society's bank account after differences arose over the use of the society's funds.
The frozen accounts contain money given by Dr Mary Schramm and the government for a new building.
When contacted yesterday, former interim president Ranadi Naqelevuki said their office at Ozanam House on Raojibhai Patel Street in Suva was still open.
"We are still receiving assistance but you'll have to talk to the interim president Ben Hazelman," Ms Naqelevuki said.
Mr Hazelman did not want to comment.
