TOP soccer clubs have agreed to play the Southern Forest/RC Manubhai National Club Championships over three days with semi-final matches.
The initial plan was to have pool games and the two top teams in each pool qualify for the final.
The Fiji Football Association adehered to the concern raised by teams.
Pool games start on Friday with the semi-finals and final to be played at Ratu Cakobau Park on Sunday.
Fiji FA vice president and tournament co-ordinator Faiaz Ali said they had received requests from districts to change the format and were willing to play a three-day tournament.
"The clubs felt they needed an equal chance of winning the tournament and wanted a second shot by having semi-finals rather than only the final," Ali said.
The pools for the tournament were drawn yesterday with 4R Electric of Ba leading Pool 1.
The side is joined by Navua's Jolly Brothers, Samabula of Suva and Downtown (Nadroga).
Defending champions Southern Forest Combine (Navua) is in Pool 2 with Wailailai Youth (Ba), Tailevu Naitasiri's Lincoln Sports and Service of Taveuni.
Wailailai and Downtown have been included after the withdrawal of Lautoka clubs GM United and Shop N Save Blues.
Gandhi Sports of Nadi declined an invitation because of financial constraints.
