KATIE Grover will never forget her Fiji family when she returns home to the United States at the end of her student exchange program next month.
The anthropology student from the University of Virginia has been living with former Pearce Home matron Emily Chang-Lee at Suva Point.
"I love the experience in Fiji. I was brought up in the mountains of Virginia in the United States," she said.
"It is close to the sea and the environment is similar. I've been living with a great family since I arrived in August.
"I will definitely miss Fiji, my home stay family and friends. I came on an exchange student program with the University of the South Pacific.
"I've learnt a lot and I hope to come back some day."
Ms Chang-Lee said Katie has been a wonderful addition to the family and will be missed.
"She has been with us for four months and she is a very beautiful girl who has made us very happy," she said. "She will leave for America next month but she has blended in well with our family and the environment here.
"Katie grew up near the sea and we live close to the sea at Suva Point so she just fit right in."
Katie will leave for the US on December 8.
