FIJI must never forget those who died to protect our freedom.
This was the message of the Fiji Ex-Servicemen Association a few days before Remembrance Day to commemorate the courage and bravery of Fiji's service personnel who died at war.
Outgoing president Matereti Sarasau said he had always urged ex-servicemen, and Fiji as a whole, to stay united.
He said all ex-servicemen military, police and prison disciplinary forces, current officers and potential officers must support the work of the association's executive authority so all issues and concerns could be addressed.
"I say this because we are branches and we work together. That's why I'm saying for them to be united. When all the people come together with one voice, they will be heard," the retired Colonel said.
Remembrance Day is held world wide at 11am on November 11 every year. Local celebrations will begin with the Field Remembrance (crosses placed representing each soldier that died) begins in Labasa today leading up to the main day.
