Nasolo unearths talents

Thursday, November 05, 2009

ANOTHER Seru Rabeni will emerge from the Nasolo Young Boys team at the Suva Sevens Series tomorrow at the tfl National Stadium.

Rabeni, who plys his trade in England, started his rugby career from the abbreviated code before establishing his mark in the 15s game.

He organised a Nasolo 7s tournament at his village two months ago with the prime objective of developing players for another level.

Nasolo rugby president Mavi Vuniwaqa said this is another grand opportunity where his village boys could display their untapped rugby talents.

The team led by former Fiji Barbarian players Nemani Keavali and Masi Naoma will be out to create upsets against top guns such as Waimanu, Army and Police.

Vuniwaqa said they have prepared to the limit to produce that entertaining rugby when the tournament kicks off on Friday.

"We're preparing really well and we'll be out to do our best for the two day tournament," he said.

Vuniwaqa said their main priority is to book a spot in the Digicel International 7s Festival in January.

"We'll to give our best to win this tournament."
