Gold Coast sojourn for star Vodafone staff

Wednesday, November 04, 2009

VODAFONE Fiji has rewarded five of its employees with an all expenses paid trip to the Gold Coast in Australia.

They will join Vodafone staff from Australia and New Zealand as the "Vodafone Legends" -- staff members who have gone beyond the call of duty and lived up to the company values of being "red, rock solid and restless".

"Recognising employees and rewarding them is a very important part of Vodafone Fiji's people strategy and is something that we build into every day," company managing director Aslam Khan said.

Each year, all staff at Vodafone are invited to nominate colleagues for the award. This year 77 staff were nominated for the award and after an extensive assessment process, five were chosen.

They will travel with their partners on the five-day "legendary" trip which includes a cruise to an island, a Hollywood Legends party at Movieworld, shopping tours, and relaxing at Surfers Paradise among many other activities.

This year's winners are Ronald Prasad, the director corporate and business markets, Jenny Zo who is in charge of branding, administra-tion assistant Seini Bolaira, Aka-sh Kumar a business applications technical officer and senior network engineer Roneel Kumar.

"The legends program also helps to support other recognition plans within the business but where it has really delivered impact is in helping recognition to become part of the everyday culture within Vodafone Fiji. Encouraging employees to give positive praise to each other not only builds a sense of satisfaction and mutual respect, it also helps drive overall management," Mr Khan said.
