THE police are investigating the death of a baby on a beach in Cakaudrove Province.
The one-year-six-month-old baby girl was discovered after villagers carried out a search.
The police said the baby was with her mother at the time she went missing.
A police official said the woman was talking with other women and didn't notice her child walk away 50 metres down the beach.
The baby's body was discovered about two hours later.
