THIRTEEN aircraft of a problematic local airline no longer have certificates of airworthiness.
Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji chief executive Netava Waqa said all Certificate of Airworthiness documents for the Air Fiji aircraft were with CAAFI.
Mr Waqa said the requirements for the renewal of aircraft Certificates of Airworthiness in Fiji was contained in the Air Navigation Regulation Part II, Standards Document Airworthiness and CAAFI Airworthiness Notices.
He said the process was initiated by the aircraft owner and/or operator submitting an application to the authority when they are satisfied that the aircraft is ready for the CAAFI Certificate of Airworthiness survey/inspection.
The Fiji Development Bank has remained tightlipped on two Air Fiji aircraft maintenance and repair hangars at Nausori Airport that were put on mortgage early this year after the airline shut down operations in April.
FDB spokeswoman Sylvia Low could not release an update on the mortgage sale.
"The bank is not at liberty to release any details," she said.
