FIJI Under-14 fly half Epeli Sicinilawa is ready for his debut in national colours against Tonga at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori today.
The 13-year-old said that the match was a stepping stone to realising his dre-am of being a Flying Fijian in future.
"I have always wanted to play for my country and this (Fiji U14) is my chance. I want to be a Flying Fijian when I grow up," Sicinilawa said.
The Class Eight student of Dilkusha Boys School had been playing with the oval ball since Class Four.
He made his debut playing for the Northland side in the primary school rugby competition.
"I like playing rugby and it has been a childhood dream to become a professional player in future."
The Dawasamu villager from Tailevu idolises former Wallabies flyhalf Stephen Larkham and is aspired to become like him.
"I admire him (Larkham) because of his skills and also because we play the same position."
Sicinilawa's dad Epeli Senior said he knew that his son had the potential to become a good rugby player in future.
"I have been encouraging him all the way and telling him that this could be the best career for him," he said.
"I have been his mentor ever since he started playing -- teaching him the basic skills.
"I know my son is talented and have a great future in rugby."
Sicinilawa expects a tough match against the spirited Tongans.
He said he would do everything possible not to let the opponents beat them on the home turf.
"I'm confident we will be able to beat Tonga tomorrow (today)."
